Here's a recipe book for serious 'foodies' and those of us who are, shall say I 'gastronomically challenged'?

'Fabulous Flavours of Australia' had me heading for the kitchen from the first page.

Beautifully illustrated, with over 80 recipes, it will have me cooking for some time!

Jill Richardson has chosen recipes that are simple, imaginative and elegant.

How about

'Sauteed Prawns with Lemon Myrtle and Wild Lime & Chilli'?

'Wattleseed and Rich Cocolate Tart'?

'Spicey Potato Wedges'? (think bush tomato and native basil).

'Chicken Schnitzel with Quandong & Macadamia Filling'?

I tend to keep a small supply of bushfoods on hand - things like wattleseed and native pepper - but I was delighted to find that I could also purchase native ingredients at the Taste of the Bush shop.

Now I'll never run out of the wonderful Dorrigo pepper!

I thought I had the full library of bushfood recipe books - this one has definately rounded out my bookshelf and got me excited (again) about cooking with our wonderful, native flavours.

Highly recommended.
